MaClaren Techno Strollers

Lightweight baby strollers have come a long way from the basic umbrella stroller.

The lightweight baby strollers that are produced today have many of the same features as larger strollers but the pared down versions are much easier for travel and quick trips to a mall, theme park, or just running errands.

The Maclaren Techno strollers are some of the best you can find on the market.  They are known to be some of the most sturdy, lightweight, and highly attractive baby strollers you can actually find.

Some of its cons are that they lack rubber wheels and suspension on the rear wheels.  The canopy lever is also known to be faulty on some models.

The majority of  parents love MaClarren strollers. These particular models seem to have the best features you can get. The distinct features of all their strollers are seats with reclining features and a five point harness.  All their features help you carry and store it virtually anywhere and extremely easily.

Here is the manufacturers description of the Techno model:

  • Suitable for babies from birth
  • Ergonomically optimized, adjustable 3-position handle height for user comfort
  • Front and rear wheel suspension
  • Shopping basket
  • Lockable, front swivel wheels
  • Sturdy, aeronautical-quality aluminum frame
  • Extendable leg rest
  • 4-position padded seat
  • Raincover included
  • Square hood with storage pockets, UV protective viewing window and sun visor. Tilts with extra panel for added sun protection.
  • Reflective panels for evening safety
  • Carry handle for easy lifting
  • Comfort pack included (head and chest pads included)
  • Sovereign(SM) lifetime warranty
  • Maclaren recycling programme
  • 12 month guarantee
  • Folded: 110 x 28 x 29cm
  • Unfolded: 110 x 79 x 34cm
  • Handle height: 107cm
  • Weight: 6.8kg

A lot of people say that the Techno model’s bigger wheels and its ability to recline fully for newborns are features that make its highly advantageous over  the more bargain priced MaClaren baby strollers (i.e. the Quest) . The XT and XTR models both have the large 6-inch wheels ( which are exclusive to these models), and there is a sizable difference in how they handle in snow, on the sand, and less than optimal terrain.

I like this stroller because it is easier to maneuver than a lot of other ones but some of the drawbacks do include having no snack bar, no cup holder for mom and dad, and the very small bins underneath are very hard to access when the seat is reclined.  Another problem is that we heard a small number of parents experienced problems with the 2004 brakes locking up on them.

Overall most parents cannot say enough about the sleek, highly sporty, and lightweight yet sturdy performance they received from their these baby strollers.  A definite good buy.

Strollers Make Theme Parks More Enjoyable For You and Your Child

If you are planning a visit to Disneyland or any other major theme park you do not want have to carry your child in your arms as you view all the attractions.  I can promise you that the experience will not be enjoyable.  In fact, you most likely will not make it through the day without suffering from utter exhaustion.

Think of your son or daughter as well.  Your child will become exhausted from walking around all day and waiting in those long lines for what seems like everything. You need a way to get your child in and around the theme park without either of you becoming completely worn out.

The perfect solution is using a stroller.  I like the MaClaren brand myself, hence the website, but others will work just fine. In fact, most major theme parks highly recommended them for use when you are there.  You can even rent one when you get there.  Unlike other items they are usually reasonable to rent.  Strollers are usually available for $10 per day and there are discounts if you require more than one stroller.

The strollers available for rental at Disneyland are  very clean and well maintained. If you do decide to rent a stroller at Disneyland, here is a tip. All the strollers available for rent look exactly the same. You should tie something on the stroller, such as a colored ribbon, so you can easily distinguish it from the other strollers in the vicinity.

Some basic rules do apply whether renting a Disneyland stroller or if you bring your own.  Its usually common sense.

Never leave your child unattended in the stroller. This is basic and can prevent you from having a potential headache if some misfortune were to happen while you were away.

Second its a good idea for you to never leave any items of value in the stroller. There are plenty of dishonest people who prey upon unsuspecting people at theme parks who will take advantage of an opportunity to take your valuables if you give them a chance.

Most theme parks offer an experience to be enjoyed by adults and children alike. If you are traveling with a young child, do yourself and your infant a favor by either bringing your own stroller or renting one from them. You will be glad you did!

Quest Maclaren Baby Stroller Review

I was doing some market research of different Maclaren strollers and came across the Quest Sport Stroller at Babies R US.  I was very impressed by the numbers of features that come with this particular item and the stylish design it.  The Quest came in two colors a)red and black and b)green and gray.  I personally found the green and gray to be a better combination.  This umbrella stroller had a lot of items for $219.99. You can probably get it cheaper online.

Safety

It has dual rear brakes for safety.  It also features dual front swivel wheels that make turning and maneuvering really easy.  This stroller comes with the 5 point harness (seat beats) to secure your child in their seats. The outside comes equipped with reflective accents for people to see you at night or when its dusk.

Comfortableness

The seat can recline in four different positions encompassing the seat going from laying down to sitting completely upright.  Also in the area of comfort there is a extendable leg rest.

Convenience

We all know that you child is going to spill whatever he or she has in their hands so Maclaren made the padding on this model hand washable.

They have a nice sized mesh storage area under the stroller for you to put almost anything you need to carry with you.  In the back they have rear storage pouch for you to put extra items you would like at your disposal like a cell phone.

The Quest Sport Maclaren stroller comes with a nice one year warranty as well.  If anything breaks or is defective you can get it replaced or fixed at no charge.  In all I would say that this stroller is a really good deal.  This company puts a lot of effort into making their strollers look as sleek and practical as possible.  The Quest is a definite buy and you will not regret you got it.
